Maker

Amano Artisan Chocolate

Amano is a small batch chocolate producer located in Orem, Utah. The founder Art Pollard seeks out unusual cacao beans, buying them directly from farms, and sometimes even working with the farmers to improve fermentation and drying. First hand control over the process ensures the best quality cacao to make the best chocolate possible. Amano has won many awards including International Chocolate Awards, Good Food Awards, London Academy of Chocolate, and more. When Pollard decided he wanted to tackle the world of chocolate making, many people didn’t think it was possible. Amano has proven their dedication, by creating their own machines from scratch, and learning everything there is to learn about chocolate.

Cacao Region

Sambirano Valley, Madagascar

Perhaps the most famous growing region in the world, northern Madagascar's Sambirano Valley is known for its incredibly fruity cacao and aromatic herbs & spices. Over the past few decades three main plantations have popped up in the area to supply cacao to chocolate makers around the world, as well as some of the world's most valuable botanicals, namely vanilla, ylang-ylang, and essential oil extracts.

Amano Madagascar 70%

To me, this bar tastes like a Cadbury fruit and nut bar if it grew up, got educated, became a lawyer and learned the art of seduction. Its probably blasphemous to say that here, but blasphemy is one of life's true pleasures. It is deep, complex, intensely raisin-y, tart, tangy, nutty and smoky. The texture is sumptuous and absolutely more-ish. I have repurchased many times and remain impressed with Amano's quality - every bar is just as heavenly.

Alright

Texture wasn't the best - a bit too hard, but the flavor was good and balanced.

Amazing chocolate

The Amano Madagascar bars are some of my favorite chocolate bars. Unique strong flavor and a hint of citrus.
